Police carry out a drugs raid at Rokeby Park, Anlaby
They came from tip-offs from people living in the communities.
Hoards of cannabis plants were found at homes in the Boulevard, Rosedale Grove and Hawthorn Avenue in west Hull, in Jalland Street, east Hull, and in Malpas Close and Chelmsford Close on the Bransholme estate.
And a seizure was made of non-prescribed methadone and unknown pills at a house in Beccles Close, north Hull.
Two stolen watches and stolen TV were also discovered during the raids along with large amounts of cash.
Arrests were made for producing a controlled drug, burglary, handling stolen goods, money laundering, cultivating cannabis, assaulting a police officer and dealing a class B drug.
Sergeant Nigel Ling from the Community CopShop, led the raids.
He said: "This operation is only possible due to good community liaison and is based on information provided by the public."
Any information about drug dealing can be passed to the police on 0845 6060222 or the Citysafe Drug Action Team by ringing (01482) 300300.

“Lilly, I also grew up in a age when we had respect ,and discipline ,but also drugs weren't as available as they are today,I agree with your view that its not only down to cannabis ,but it plays a big part,a lot of these kids parents are smoking pot instead of looking after their kids. I'm talking of kids twelve years old here ,what would they do if cannabis was suddenly made legal?,it would send out a message to them that its perfectly ok to smoke dope ,when they decide to try cocaine or heroin ,what then ?,tell them that thats not ok ,I don't think its a simple as that .
When would you allow people to smoke cannabis ?at work for instance ,what kind of work force would we have ,there is a whole lot of problems as I see it.”

“Arthur weve exchanged many comments on here and I mostly agree with everything you say tbh :-) Ive smoked pot on a couple of occasions in the past - over 10 years ago and tbh its never done anything for me - as I say drugs arent for me, i prefer a drink! However I know people that smoke it now, people as you say that wouldnt admit it for both professional and legal reasons. I also have a close member of my family (in her 50's, never touched drugs before illness) that smokes it now as she believes it benefits her medically, might be a placebo affect but it seems to be working.
I think 'I could Tell you' sums up just what big business cannabis is and the danger the dealers pose both to the public and the authorities! However that kind of backs up my point, make it legal and we take that financial avenue away from them!
I dont have the answers but I believe that an open, honest debate is needed as this is a problem that WILL NOT go away! Arthur I remember you once saying that you said there was NO help out there for people affected by drugs (sorry if im wrong), does that not back up the head in the sand argument?
As for anon, the problems you experience arent down to cannabis, theyre down to a breakdown in discipline and respect! I grew up in an age were we respected our elders because otherwise they would tell our parents. Now what happens, a teacher tells a kid off and theyre been investigated, a parents smacks a child and theyre up for child abuse...well you the get drift!
Different argument for a different day lol. Overall I think all drug dealers should be punished harshly and lets hope the new government look at cannabis, drugs and the state of our streets - i wont hold my breath though, well its not like they have to live with the consequences is it...”

“Arthur Ezzle Road,Living here on a council estate I don't so much see the trendy leftys and students, what I see is the out of control yobbos ,age twelve upwards smoking skunk on a regular basis, never at school ,causing no end of trouble to their neighbours, and the small time dealers are at the root of it all.How would legalising cannabis stop this I wonder?,because after all these kids are not old enough to buy cigarettes never mind cannabis.”
by I could tell you, but then I would have to kill you.
