GRAB your leg warmers before you go go – the 1980s are back with a vengeance.

An outdoor concert will pay homage to the era of shell-suits and Dallas in East Park tomorrow.

The Human League, Bananarama, Belinda Carlisle, T'Pau and Go West are among those who will perform at the gig, in east Hull.

The stars will play some of the biggest hits of the decade, including China In Your Hands, Heaven Is A

Place On Earth, and Don't You Want Me?

More than 3,000 people are expected to attend the concert in the 120-acre park – which underwent a £10m makeover last year.

There will be entertainment by KCFM before the event and a firework finale.

Chris Bailey, event manager for IML Concerts which is hosting the event, said: "We are really pleased to be presenting this unique show for the first time at East Park and expect it to be a fabulous evening – just don't forget your dancing shoes.

"It will be a picnic-style concert so we encourage everyone to bring their own food and drink.

"There will also be catering outlets on site."

There will be on-site parking for all ticket-holders.

Access to the facility will be via the Holderness Gate only, and there will be stewards on-hand for directions.

The gates open at 5pm and the music starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are on sale from IML Concerts on (01603) 660444 or

Hull City Hall Booking Office on (01482) 226655. Alternatively, log on to www.imlconcerts.co.uk

Advance adult tickets are £30, those for children aged 5 to 15 are £15 and under-5s go in free.

“Glad it all went well. x

I seem to remember there used to be concerts in the park on a fairly regular basis sometime in the sixties, nothing elaborate, you just sat on the grass and local bands or individuals got up and played.

There was no charge for it

    Anyone else remeber it?”

“What an amazing event, we all had a fantastic night, singing, dancing, laughing, drinking, everyone was in good spirits, it certainly was a trip down memory lane and the bands were just as good 20 years on.
It was a well organised event and worth every penny, hope they do something similar next year.”

“Well, me and my sis have just got back from an absolutely awesome evening at the KCFM Party in the Park!! We didn't know anyone around us, however, by the end of the evening if felt like we'd all known each other for years.
A great atmostphere - fun, laughter, singing, drinking, eating, relaxing, letting our hair down, and generally having a good time.
For a few hours this evening, all our worries and stresses were forgotten about - in this day that is something worthwhile in my opinion.
The organisaton was excellent, the secruity and the staff, the police and St Johns were never far away if need be.
From my point of view - a great night had by all and bring on next years event!!!”

“due to this pile of rubish going on in east park me and my son was kicked out of the park at just before 3 o'clock . I was then left to try to explian to him why we wasn't allowed in the park. I'm sure my council tax goes towards running of the park and feel it a descrace that we was kicked out”

“Never mind sleep, Grumpy. Where's everyone going to park their cars? When I used to live across from East Park it was bedlam for the residents when anything was going on in the park.”

“Ooh! i loved the 80's. I used to o to a lot of parties where everyone dresssed as either Morrissey or madonna - I was a Kate Bush fan - not an easy look for a 15 stone 20 year old to carry off!”
