“Whilst this spacific problem seems in the main to be associated with the road works I believe Tesco have got the free parking situation wrong. People park there for two hours for free whether they shop at Tesco or in any other part of the city. They should introduce parking charges with free parking only being available if individuals present their tickets in Tesco when they spend a minimum of say £10. The cost of the ticket would be reimbursed when presented at the checkout with goods to that value.”

“Perhaps HDM could advise if Tesco intend to cancel fines for over-staying the 2 hours maximum parking on that occasion, when the delays to leaving were totally outside the control of the car owners.”

“if you are in your car. you are contributing to the existence of the queue, so please don't complain.
Obviously, no buses or trains go anywhere near St. Stephen's.

“Regarding wasting time to escape from Tesco car parks, "Every Little Helps!" You wouldn't get this at Lidl or Aldi where shopping prices are always lower.”
