Major roadworks are ahead of schedule on the £10 million upgrade to the A164 Humber Bridge to Beverley route.

East Riding Council officials say work is progressing swiftly but this remains dependent on weather conditions.

Night work has been taking place at Skidby roundabout, causing some traffic delays.

Starting today, carriageway resurfacing works will take place overnight along the A164, between West Ella Road overbridge and Swanland roundabout.

The council will maintain one lane of traffic in each direction through the works during the day to reduce the impact on road users, with temporary traffic signal use restricted to off-peak periods and night working.

In the coming weeks, work will include creating an enlarged roundabout at Willerby, near to The Ketch pub.

New lighting columns will be erected, feeder pillars installed and a new footpath link towards Willerby will be paved and kerbed.

All businesses along the route remain open as normal.

“The last few weeks have shown Hull Roads need a major upgrade. An inner ring road west of Ferensway, e.g. Daltry Street island to Spring Bank, a link from Mt Pleasant to Beverley Road and a major upgrade to most of the out ring road (No10 route).”
