“Sympathies to anyone hurt in this incident. But it does raise the question about shutting roads or motorways because of accidents... we are the laughing stock of Europe when it comes to unnecessarily closing motorways especially. On the continent any vehicles obstructing the motorways are dragged out of the way as soon as any casualties have been rescued, there is a much bigger priority about keeping the traffic moving, instead of taking hours to take photos and videos of the scene.”

“This accident happened between 4:30 and 5am, I know becuase I passed it at 4:55, ambulances etc were still on site. The lamp-post has never leant into the road, it is practically touching the Earl De Grey.”

“Went past that this morning at 7am and saw no one in the car just a couple of police cars and officers stood looking at it. Why they couldn't move it is a mystery as it wasn't entangled on the lamppost it hit which was leaning over but towards the car park. You'd think with it being the main arterial route they could have moved it into the layby it was next to to alleviate the problems it has now caused.”
