Actress won't reprise film role
BEVERLEY film star Jemma McKenzie-Brown will not be starring in the next High School Musical.
The Sylvia Young Theatre School pupil, who featured in the third film of the series, has told the Mail rumours that she is set for an even bigger part in the fourth installment of the Disney blockbuster are not true.
The 14-year-old said her agent has received a letter confirming that a whole new cast will be sought for the film which will air sometime next year.
But Jemma says she is not disheartened by the news.
She said: "I had so much fun acting in the third film and it's a shame I won't be in the next, but that's just the way it goes.
"I have lots of auditions coming up and I'm considering new opportunities so it's an exciting time for me."
Jemma beat 600 others to play Tiara Gold in High School Musical, which grossed £40m worldwide in its first three days of release.
The actress went to school in Hull and started dancing at the Pamela Gray Dancing Academy in Anlaby Road, west Hull.
At the age of 10 she won a place at the world-famous Sylvia Young Theatre School – which has produced stars such as Billie Piper, Leona Lewis and Amy Winehouse.
