HULL FC owner Adam Pearson has reassured fans the club is building a team to be feared – revealing six new signings are on their way to the KC Stadium.

The news comes as the Black and Whites' fans have raised concerns over the number of players set to leave at the end of the campaign.

As many as seven players from this year's first-team squad are now known to be leaving, or have already departed, including the likes of Willie Manu, Jordan Turner, Sam Moa, Mark O'Meley and Eamon O'Carroll.

Despite the upheaval, Pearson insists there is still both plenty to play for this season, and lots to look forward to next year as Peter Gentle builds a squad capable of providing long-term success at the KC.

"When I look at the young players we are bringing in, plus Gareth Ellis, I think we will have a team to be feared next year," Pearson told the Mail.

"We have six new players sorted for next season, but obviously we can't announce who they are at present.

"We are extremely pleased with the players we have got coming here and the calibre of them.

"They are predominantly young, predominantly English and will be England internationals in the future.

"It is massively frustrating that fans see players going but we can't say who is coming in. But we know that we have picked off what we want for next season, whether that be centres, outside backs, props, we are virtually all done.

"We have two players yet to confirm they are coming, two big signings, but we are very happy with the squad."

With Gareth Ellis and Joe Arundel two of the six new faces confirmed for next season, Hull are keeping their powder dry with regard to announcing further new recruits.

As first reported in yesterday's Mail, Catalan Dragons prop Lopini Paea is believed to be one of the big signings close to being secured by Hull, with sources indicating an even higher profile name is also currently in the negotiating stage.

While bringing in Ellis, Paea and their third high-profile target, Hull continue to prioritise youth in their recruitment as Gentle bids to build a predominantly young English side that can grow together in the next few years.

Arundel is one of those recruits already confirmed, with Bradford winger Jason Crookes believed to be another.

"We are losing one or two favourites but the players coming in I can assure you are young, hungry and part of our future together," added Pearson.

"It is going to be a new club and a new team.

"Peter was given that scope by me to build a new team and that is what he is doing."

Whilst keen to stress the focus on getting the side right for next season, Pearson remains insistent there is still plenty to play for this year, despite four straight defeats.

"What is key is people don't take their eye off the ball this season," he said.

"We have easily a good enough squad to finish top six."

“Just seen the Dobbin's bus stranded on the M62 Hard-shoulder just past Goole! Reminded me of a joke about a "useless coach" and a "broken-down team"....”

“I see the old (very old) queen Flambro_Lite aka Harbourlites aka Bridrobin is getting her frilly knickers in a twist because she's excited about her night out at Fuel this evening with her "misses" auntie Slammer. Get that Lambrini on ice. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Watts will flourish under a good coach like Gentle unlike poor old wingnut Sandydick who hasn't had the experience of coaching a first team squad and I bet he'll have a storming game against the Dobbins. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Oh dear auntie Slammer's on here all excited again and why not,it's Friday and she and the other old queens will be trooping off to Fuel tonight to drown their sorrows with a glass or two of Lambrini. Perhaps the alcohol will help him remember the subject/topic of his PhD and the University she studied at...mmmmm was it as he first said Nottingham or was it as he later stated the LSE but then again recently she said she studied at Hull University. ha ha ha ha
I just love reading her comments and all the little pet names she has for her favourite players like Hally,Dobbo,Webbo,Josh and Sandy, oh bless.

STILL NO BUILDING WORK AT CARAVAN PARK THEN.....THOSE BUILDERS HAVE THE CHEEK TO EXPECT PAYMENT FOR THEIR WORK...THEY OBVIOUSLY HAVEN'T WORKED FOR THE BEGGING DOBBINS BEFORE. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA”

Hence, your denial on another thread that you have only used your current name is nonsense. lol”

Dixter the Fraud like you is incapable of 'owning' anyone or anything. You clearly don't know the meaning of the word with regard to Internet Forums.

Why do you change your name so often? Perhaps it's due to your embarrassing posting history. How are things in Derby or is Beverley? You never are quite sure of where you live are you? lol”
