Administrators bow to pressure over HMV gift vouchers
HMV's administrators have bowed to public pressure and said they will accept gift cards at the collapsed music chain.
Despite HMV continuing to sell gift cards until the day before the music chain collapsed, administrators Deloitte stopped accepting them once appointed to the business last week.
Today Deloitte confirmed gift cards and vouchers will be redeemed in stores from tomorrow.
Administrator Nick Edwards said: "Since our appointment as Joint Administrators on Tuesday afternoon, we have been urgently assessing the companies' financial position. I am pleased to confirm that, having concluded this assessment, we are able to honour gift cards.
