ALL eyes in the Hull & District League's Premier Division will be on the title battle between Albert Hotel and West Hull Academy at Massey Street tomorrow.

Albert lost first place in the table to West Hull last week as their own game was postponed because of bad weather, but a win would see them regain their place at the summit.

Albert are without Matty Ellis (suspended), Stu Taylor (injury) and Jack Simms (unavailable), and will hand a late fitness test to Lee Walton.

But joint coach Paul King is pleased with the options at his disposal.

He said: "We should have a strong team out apart from a few absentees.

"We are looking forward to a good game, but we know we will have to be at our best to beat a very good young West Hull side.

"If it is anything like the BOCM Cup final, it will be a cracker."

West Hull coach Rob Wilson is keeping his squad close to his chest and claims he may have selection problems.

He said: "We are struggling for a team against Albert because our first team has a friendly against East Hull, so my team is being cherry-picked for that. The under-18s also have a National Cup game on Sunday, so players are needed for that game and asking them to play two big games in two days is too much of an ask."

Third-placed Norland host Myton, who can mathematically still finish in the top-four play-offs, while fourth-placed Skirlaugh travel to Embassy.

Outside title contenders Hull Wyke, who have only played six games, face Reckitts and a win would put them up two places. Bransholme will face Hull Isberg at Winifred Holtby.

RUGBY LEAGUE

COTTINGHAM Tigers are the only club to fly the flag for the Hull & District League when they host Ackworth Jaguars in the BARLA National Cup.

Riding high in the Pennine League, the Pontefract team come with a good pedigree and Tigers coach Dave Cooper will not take the lightly.

He said: "We have been looking forward to our first appearance in the BARLA National Cup for a few years and after producing a strong defensive performance in our last game, we will be looking to continue in the same vein against strong opposition.

"We need to value the ball and not overplay when we are in possession. But this is a great chance for our very young team to test itself against new unknown opponents"
