The death of Hedon opera star Amy Black is not being treated as suspicious, police have confirmed.

Officers have yet to determine the exact cause of death but have officially said the body found on Tuesday, near Mill Nurseries, Main Street, Keyingham, is that of the singer.

Detective Inspector Colin Waddington said: "Police are not treating her death as suspicious but it is still unexplained.

"We have a duty of care to Amy, her family and the coroner to investigate her sudden death and to ascertain what happened."

Amy's parents have released a further statement saying: "We would like to thank the local community for their support at this difficult time.

"However, we do ask that we are left in peace, whilst we come to terms the death of our daughter."

The 36-year-old had recently battled back from a serious heart problem.
