Anlaby benefit cheat who inherited thousands taken to court
ANLABY: A benefit fraudster has been given a three-year conditional discharge.
Stephen Scaife, 64, of Rockley Court, was sentenced at Hull Magistrates' Court after admitting he failed to promptly declare a change in circumstances.

But an investigation by East Riding Council and the Department for Work and Pensions showed he had inherited more than £16,000.

“What is not stated and should have been is that he will have to repay all of the money. He has not got away with it and if he is in court for anything in the next 3 years he can be resentenced for this offence.”
