Attracting more shoppers
STEVEN Marsay, store manager at Debenhams, said more shoppers are being attracted to the area as a result of his company recently investing £500,000 – and the festive lighting will build on that.
He said: "We're delighted that Hull Bid has been able to find the money to bring a real festive feel to the street, which adds value to what the businesses are doing.
"I'm sure all the people walking around this part of the city centre will enjoy the lights in the run-up to Christmas.
"It helps to support the investment we have made in bringing a modern department store with state-of-the- art technology into the city."
