Aussie legend Darren Lockyer finally on way to Craven Park
AUSSIE legend Darren Lockyer is heading to MS3 Craven Park – but won't be stepping out of retirement to join the Robins.
Lockyer, who was often linked with a big-money move to KR in recent years, will be guest speaker in the 10-5 Suite when England take on France on Saturday, November 2.

Darren Lockyer
Arguably the best player to have played the game, he has won every honour Down Under at club, State of Origin and international level.
Rovers are delighted to have finally secured his services – even if only off the pitch – and are urging fans to take the chance to spend time in the company of a living league legend.
Our transparent fixed sales fees set us aside from the competition, offering full Estate Agency Service for a fixed fee regardless of the value of your home.

"The term legend shouldn't be used lightly and put quite simply he is one of the greatest players to have ever played the game," Rovers commercial and marketing director Andy Mowbray told the Mail.
"Darren is right up there with the very best.
"If you ask most rugby fans to choose their top 13 players from any generation, he would figure in most people's team.
"It's fantastic for the profile of the club and MS3 Craven Park as an international venue when you have legends like Darren Lockyer visiting your club.
"We had a meeting with Richard Lamb, one of the main consultants handling next year's Rugby League World Cup, and he mentioned that Darren was visiting the UK to do some promotional work for the tournament.
"When he confirmed the timing of his visit, it fitted in around England's game with France so we knew there was a chance to get him at Craven Park, and we simply had to make it happen."
Despite repeated rumours and excitement over a possible switch to Super League, Lockyear remained loyal to the Brisbane Broncos and Queensland.
"Depending on Darren's management team, I'm sure there will be opportunities, especially in the 10-5 restaurant, for photos where he will be speaking after the match."
Tickets for the evening with Lockyer are £60 plus VAT and includes a three-course meal, ticket in the west stand, souvenir match programme and car parking.

"bridrobin, and it will continue to be sky,for the rest of whatever time i have left, you seem to be having problems with that, lets hope that in your 78th year your still around to be able to spout your nonsense and lies eh ?"
Playing the sympathy card now eh dixter?
You apparently manage to have your holiday abroad every year. Older supporters than you struggle to go to the KC and CP. I will continue to support my club as I have done for the last 54 years.
An ex work colleague of mine buys a season pass every year knowing he can only get to half of Rovers matches. I spoke to him just before our home game against Wigan - that's what I call supporting your team.
No excuse, you are all talk and no substance.”

"bridrobin, failed season pass initiative, why the club have sold 1300 more passes than at this time lastyear pearsons words,so how come thats a failure,he also stated that they sold 260 passes just yesterday,so thats failure also lol, suggest you pop into the dobbin store and taste real failure lol."
I have already bought my season pass. The reason for that is I am a loyal supporter. You have not bought and in all probability never have bought a pass for the club you pretend to support. Very soon it won't be worth buying a Gateshull (est.1998) season pass because there will be no money saving advantage. The faithless will pick their matches. In your case you won't be going at all.
The simple fact that you are not a supporter of your club seems to escape your befuddled mind. You have no answer to this dix because you have stated time and time again that you are an armchair fan.
Shame on you.

“FC on the up?? Clearly you haven't seen how many NRL games Travis Burns has played compared to Blake Green who netted us £150k even though he's only played about 30 games for us over 2 years! A very good player and one of our best imports in his first year but replaced by a much better prospect. As for Taylor, well yes a loss but Paea, Lovegrove, O'Hara and Tuimavave along with Beaumont and Green should all do a pretty good job filling his overhyped boots!
Don't see how you can call our coach poor or our recruitment poor, yes some results didn't go in our favour but they were mighty close games and we played much more attractive rugby than we've seen before. Given it was not his team and he only made one or two signings it is hardly surprising we missed out on the playoffs.
People in glass houses should not throw stones, a difficult concept for a west Hullar I know but just remember your finances were as bad if not worse than HKR's for the past announced financial year! You rely on Adam Pearson as much as we rely on Neil Hudgell who funnily has enough spare cash to sponsor the KC's east stand, Brid Town and Elland Road... he's also stated he won't just walk away due to loving the club, can you honestly say Pearson loves Hull FC?!
I would also like to direct you to the Hull KR tv website that shows the progress of our North stand and clearly you didn't hear what our chairman said about announcing a south stand development in the new year! So after 5 years in the SL we are improving our ground gradually rather than moving in to the KC and not doing anything to our ground at all like Hull did with the Boulevard (did you even go to that ground or is it before your glory supporting time?).
So in short...do one!”

“FContheDown, you are trying to divert attention away from Gateshull's (est.1998) failed season pass initiative. Only 3 days to go to save money and a long way from the target of the end of October.
Adam must be acutely disappointed.
Why haven't the faithless fallen over themselves to buy discounted passes? Like Dixter the Fraud they opt for Sky TV.
BEL13VE ??

“Lockyer a great player,as for fc on the down, like your club are awash with success aren't they?? One league title in 54 years and having to merge with a Geordie team to survive!! And you won't remember your crowd in 1975 against huyton it was 900 !!! Big club my arrrrrrse!! Old gateshull you'll never win at Wembley!!'!!”

“It was a priveledge to watch his last game at Elland Road, what a talent.
As for him ever being linked to HKR, he's worth more than they are as a club. It'd be like Messi signing for Southampton.
Small club, small fanbase, skint and massively in debt, sold all their best players just stay alive, a chairman who announced he may have to consider going into administration, appalling ground and facilities, poor recruitment for next season, poor coach, no success in over a quarter of a century, finished 10th in SL losing 9 out of their last 10 games.
Hard times................................”
