Baby Kayla's the picture of health
AT JUST a few weeks old, little Kayla May Tasker is already posing for the
camera.
Six-week-old Kayla is one of the youngest entrants in the Mail’s Baby And Toddler Of The Year competition.
When she was born three weeks prematurely, Kayla weighed just 5lb 3oz.
But now she is the picture of health – and her mum Kelsey Magee, 18, can’t wait to see her photograph in the Mail.
Kelsey, of Bransholme, said: “She is doing great now and I am really enjoying it.
“She is really good and hardly ever cries.
“It was a bit of shock when she was born early and we had to stay in hospital for a few days, but she is fine.”
Kayla is now in with a chance of winning a share of £3,000 of prizes.
Although entries have now closed, Thursday is the last day for parents to choose the photograph they would like to see in the Mail.
There is also the opportunity to purchase some of the images taken by our photographers.
As reported, pictures of all the entrants will be published in a full-colour photo special on Tuesday, April 13.

executive at the Mail, said: “This year’s competition has been as
popular as ever, with some really cute entrants.
“Readers are going to have a tough time knowing who to vote for as there are numerous worthy candidates in each age category.
“Thursday is the last day to
return and choose the picture of your little one to appear in the full-colour photo special so parents should make sure they get down to Princes Quay before 5pm.”
The contest was open to youngsters from birth to five, with the winner of each category scooping £500 and a framed photograph.
The overall winner will receive £1,000, the Baby And Toddler Of The Year trophy and a framed
photograph.
The photographs will be displayed in categories, which are birth to nine months, 10 to 18 months, 19 to 36 months and 37 months to five years.

“for those people who think that kayla is a stupid or strange name then you need to get a life. if you dont like baby competitions then dont bother looking. is it cos your jealous your kids are not entered cos they wouldnt stand a chance.to me all kids are beautiful and a name is the parents choice. i think some of the comments on here are pathetic and some people need to grow up if you can comment on a baby that cant defend herself you are very sad. and by they way i am kayla's nana and it has taken a lot for her to be here so can we have good comments please or do not comment at all. and i hope when your kids grow up they have better manners than you and keep nasty comments to yourself”
