Hull Daily Mail

I AM writing on behalf of my father, Terrence Anderson, an east Hull resident and employee at Willerby Caravans, but I am sure the rest of the employees of caravan manufacturers will agree with the points made here.

The employees at Willerby caravans are on 3.5-day weeks. This is because the industry is struggling, during these hard times.

This increase in VAT on static caravans, an already strenuous tax, will prove to be detrimental to this industry in Hull.

This Government was supposed to be making jobs.

However, this recent raise in VAT will no doubt cause the loss of a huge amount jobs, not just at Willerby Caravans but at all of the manufacturers of static caravans in Hull.

It is ridiculous to contemplate why this tax has been implemented.

Yet again, the north east has been forgotten.

Ethan Anderson, address supplied.
