Yorkshire Regiment Corporal Charles McCaffer attended with his twin daughters, Charlie-Mai and Madison.

Charles, who returned from Afghanistan in April, said: "I think it is a great event because it promotes everything involved and gives people an understanding. I brought the girls along to show them what I do and they are having a great time. It is a good family day out."

A Tiger Moth flypast was cancelled due to technical difficulties but with an array of stalls, bands and performances, there was still plenty for the crowds to enjoy.

Sergeant Jason Garnham, who is based at Leconfield, visited with his family.

He said: "It it brilliant because it raises awareness and is a great day out."
