Some relenting from the weather allowed 20 games to go ahead in the East Riding County Football League, the best turn-out since November.

League Senior Cup Round One

Beverley Town Reserves' secretary was glad he did not pay money to watch this scrappy encounter.

Neither side strung any passes together and neither did enough to win it.

In the first half Whitehead got round the back on a couple of occasions but could not create anything.

The chance of the game fell to Evins in the 44th min but he somehow put his shot wide from eight yards.

The second half was worse and when extra time looked nailed on, Scullys sub Matongo toe-prodded a shot from 15 yards which bounced in front of the Town keeper's dive and crept in off the post.

Premier Division

The first game of 2010, and not the ideal way for Hodgsons to continue in the push for the title.

AFC Goods Office from Goole looked the better side and fully deserved their victory.

Although it could have been very different, as the first 20 minutes was pretty much Hodgsons.

It was the home side that took the lead through Scott-Jon Tyler, who finished neatly with the outside of his left foot.

Goods Office drew level through a superb free-kick a few minutes later.

Then Hodgsons regained the lead through Karl Wallis who headed home from some distance following a great ball in from Chris Robinson.

Things were all level again a few minutes later when Chris Robinson was adjudged to have fouled a Goole forward in the box.

A penalty was given and it was dispatched with ease.

A point at this stage wouldn't have been such a bad thing, however Goods Office kept pushing forward and scored twice in the last 15 minutes to give them a 4-2 victory.

It may have been sometime since Hodgsons had played but the same applied to Goods Office, but they appeared to be more up for it than the home side.

The ball was casually given away too often and this certainly needs to be addressed ahead of the Senior Country Cup Quarter Final away trip to Filey Town this Saturday.

This Saturday also sees the return of Paul Silvester, Ben Daniels and leading scorer Adam Foster who were all badly missed in the 4-2 defeat.

Division One

Despite the snow, the pitch at Little Weighton was declared fit for the match against South Cave United.

An early goal gave Little Weighton the lead which they extended to 2-0 just minutes before the end of the first half.

South Cave finally broke through Little Weighton's defence midway through the second half when they were awarded a free kick on the edge of the area.

Tom Brennan stepped up to take the free kick, which was headed into the back of the net by Richard Silk.

Ten minutes later Tom Brennan also got onto the score sheet.

South Cave secured the match when Paul Rackham set up Tom Love to score United's third goal.

Man of the Match went to Tom Brennan for his consistent hard work in midfield throughout the match.

Aldbrough were able to match Park Athletic for the first 20 minutes but then they were unlucky when Park's first goal came from a deflection.

Their second came when a poor clearance left the goalkeeper stranded off his line and a clever lob made it 2-0 to Park Athletic.

At the start of the second half Aldbrough were caught out early and it was 3-0.

They briefly came back to make it 3-1 but Park quickly came back to score again.

With no substitutes available Aldbrough quickly tired especially on the all weather pitch and the match finished 6-1 to Park Athletic.

This was a poor performance from Aldbrough Utd.

Division Five

AFC Goods Office Res have commanding lead in Division Five.

The Goole derby brought game set match as you could say as the Goods Reserves are 16 points clear at the top and the title is almost touchable with six to play.

Eastern Raiders put up a very strong challenge and deserved something from the game.

Hopefully they will finish runners up to make it a one-two from the Goole district into Division Four for next season and join the other Goole outfit and neighbours Howden.
