Beverley relegated
RUGBY UNION
BEVERLEY wrapped up their season with a 19-0 win over Burnage, but have been relegated from National League Three.
To take 33 points from their last 11 games was no mean feat and to find themselves with 52 points – just two from safety – can be regarded as unlucky.
After a devastating first half of the season when they were decimated by injuries, Beverley had fought heroically to make up the lost ground.

To have any chance of survival they needed a win with a four-try bonus point and they went flat out for tries. Full-back Richard Bussey crossed for a try after 10 minutes, which Junior Tupai converted. Then Chris Infield added another before the break.
Tom Bagnall powered his way over for a third which Tupai converted but Burnage held out to deny them a fourth.
Given the other results it would have proved academic.
