Beverley squeeze home
Beverley Town 1 Sculcoates Amateurs 0
As expected a very competitive game, with few clear cut chances, was settled in the 15th minute.
Clever play by Ricardo whose throw-in came back to him, to release a clearly flighted ball into the box, which found Custas, who timed his run perfectly, heading home past the advancing goalkeeper Hitchcock.
Earlier opportunities had been cleared, Durham shooting wide when well placed and Ricky Fields, for Scully, should have done better as he shot wide.
Town found themselves defending this lead for much of the game, whilst still looking dangerous on the break.
The second half was much the same, with Town thankful to Thompson for two excellent saves to prevent Smith and Catchpole equalising.
Town's Irwin was excellent against his old club, with other good performances coming from Overton, Rafton and Custas. Sculcoates were disappointed not to get something from the game as Town held on to the points.
Hall Road Rangers Res 3 Hessle Rangers 3
Hessle, for the second week running, were involved in a game that was high scoring and full of incident.
Hessle were punished when a sloppy pass was intercepted which allowed Hall Road to score.
Hessle were looking dangerous up front, and when "man of the match" D. Shaw was brought down for a penalty, M. Barker made it 1-1.
Hessle were playing with confidence and looking the sharper team but kept giving Hall Road opportunities with sloppy passing which allowed them to run at Hessle, whose defence was being stretched by the quick front pair.
It took a sublime 20-yard strike from D. Shaw to give Hessle the lead and the chance to stamp their authority on the game, but with half time approaching, a poor goal kick was punished which allowed Hall Road to equalise at 2-2.
The second half saw Hessle reduced to 10 men with 30 minutes remaining, which to Hessle's credit did not stop them from taking the game to Hall Road and deservedly taking the lead when B. Sherwood headed home.
Hessle were competing really well, working hard to close down any space and deny any crosses being delivered. Hessle were looking comfortable but their hard work was undone when Hall Road exploited some space out wide which resulted in the equaliser 3-3.
With Hessle getting stretched, keeper L. Picken was called into action with some good goal keeping.
Hessle were reduced to nine men with five minutes remaining, which resulted in Hall Road pushing hard for the winner, but Hessle stood firm to collect a share of the points.
Hedon Rangers 0 Hessle Sporting 4
Although Hessle worked hard throughout the game Hedon never looked beaten.
The highlight was a hat- trick by Steve Hall with three well-taken goals.
The other goal resulted from Leon Garland bouncing back into his old scoring role with a well placed shot.
Hedon created several chances but failed to find a clinical finish.
This was in contrast to the Hessle strikers.
Overall this was a good performance by Hessle Sporting.
Malet Lambert YC 0 Chalk Lane 5
After a closely- contested first half which saw Chalk Lane take the lead in the 30th minute, Malet Lambert were still well into this excellent football contest at half-time mark.
Despite all Malet's effort, Chalk Lane ran out comfortable winners with four second half goals when Malet appeared to run out of steam.
Chalk Lane were continually closing down in the midfield area and won the battle to dominate the game.
Joe Addinnal and Ryan Mellors were outstanding for Chalk with Jamie Richards making a telling return to the Chalk Lane line up.
Brad McKay tried hard for Malet but was outnumbered in mid-field and found it difficult to execute his normal good passing game.
Pocklington Town 1 Hornsea Town 2
A game of two halves which could have gone either way.
However, it was visitors Hornsea who came out on top.
It was a hard fought game throughout which featured some heavy challenges.
Pocklington opened the scoring on 30 minutes following a good move which was well finished.
Skitt equalised when a free kick was deflected into the net and Adams sealed the win when Silvestri was brought down in the box, but the goal was given and Hornsea grabbed the points.
Reckitts 7 St Andrews 2
The first half was even finishing with the sides level at 2-2.
St. Andrews goals had been scored by Leng and Stephenson.
The second half was all Reckitts, who scored three super goals and eventually finished with an emphatic result.
Withernsea 1 East Riding Rangers 1
The Seasiders will count themselves a little unfortunate to have not picked up all three points in a 1-1 draw with East Riding Rangers.
Withernsea beat the visitors in the Grays League Cup last week at the same place but frustration beckoned this week.
With just Dawson missing Paul Wilkinson gained a start up front with Daniel Medforth taking his place on the bench.
Withernsea started like a house on fire and Andy Bentley posed a big threat, hitting the side netting and whipping in two brilliant crosses but nobody could get on the end of them.
The visitors always looked a threat on the attack, though, but they didn't play much football, just a long ball over the top for their pacy strikers to chase.
Dave Westoby had to make one outstanding last-ditch tackle while Phil Richardson made one fine save.
Tom Finn cleared a corner off the line but otherwise Riding created next to nothing.
The Seasiders played some great football, Brad Keyworth fired one effort from distance but it didn't trouble goalkeeper Pindar, Dunn also headed just wide from a free-kick but the sides went in at half-time level.
In the second period Withernsea again continued their dominance but couldn't find the net, and when Tom Finn missed a one-on-one which he should have scored the visitors hit Withernsea straight on the counter attack and took the lead.
The Seasiders picked themselves up and from a Daniel Medforth free-kick John Dunn scored an equaliser following a goalmouth scramble.
Withernsea continued to push for the winner, Paul Wilkinson headed wide from a corner and from another corner the ball was parried to the feet of Mark Sutton but he slipped over.
Withernsea just couldn't find the winner and had to settle for a share of the spoils.
