E RIDING: The team at RSPB Bempton Cliffs is aiming to get through more than 100 apples a day next week.

Staff on the reserve near Bridlington are aiming to create 900 apple bird feeders during half-term to mark the 900th anniversary of Bridlington Priory.

Kim Smales, of the reserve, said: "About 225lbs of apples are needed to complete the challenge, so we'd like to hear from anyone with apples to spare."

Anyone wishing to join in the challenge should visit the reserve between Saturday and Sunday, February 17.
