“I also would like to know who is to provide this service. NABB is an umbrella organisation for the various individual blood bike groups around the country, and has has already been stated, do not provide a service in their own right. The Lincolnshire group has been in existence for well over 12 months now, but are still not ready to go live - it takes time to raise funds, obtain suitable vehicles, arrange the operational support and so on. I haven't heard of any such group in East Yorkshire, although I vaguely remember hearing that one might be starting up. Could it be that HDM has jumped the gun regarding a newly created group? If a group has started I wish them well in their endeavours.”

    “All good wishes to them.

I just hope that they take notice of the events surrounding the formation and eventual disbanding of NEDSAR (North East Discovery Search and Rescue). These were founded for drivers of 4x4 vehicles with a similar aim ... transporting medical supplies and patients across difficult terrain where traditional vehicle couldn't go.

Unfortunately, a number of their members took this as permission to run "practice" sessions tearing round towns well in excess of the speed limits and across private land, churning it up, under the guise of training. The police eventually had to close them down after their leader was found ambulance chasing .....although they have reappeared under a number of guises. (Google their remaining websites)”

“A fantastic National volunteer force doing an invaluable job.....

BUT who and where are the East Yorkshire volunteers based??? There is no mention of East Yorkshire on the bloodbikes web site. It was so that compliments could be made personal on this site.”
