    “@ g_l_w...

"How come comments can be published on this news article but cant be published on the attempted abduction at Hull Fair????????????????"

For such a fiercely proud Brit you don't seem to have much of a grasp of some of the most basic tenets of English law.

The reason you can't comment on that case is because a man has been arrested, charged and remanded in custody and it is therefore sub judice which for the hard-of-thinking such as yourself means the media are prohibited from publishing material which may prejudice the trial. And that includes ill informed ramblings by gobsh**es such as you.

If you have any information useful to the case then I suggest you contact the police. If you don't then shut ya trap.”

“London2Hull is spot on with the Langar. I know the Sally Army do good work with food parcels as does the slightly more dubious Trussel Trust (IMHO). Similarly and lesser known, Muslim mosques do the same (mainly in Ramadan) offering an Iftar meal. The Sikh Gudwaras do the same all year round. As a white Brit who has lived in multicultural London & fell on hard times, I had to make use of Sally Army food parcels and the Sikh gudwara that was in my area. I am eternally grateful for the help I got from the Sally Army & Sikh temple & my respect for Sikhs multiplied many times. I found Sikhs to be hardworking & proud people who believe in charity & helping people less fortunate in the community (of any background). I do hope the bigots fall on hard times if only to have their eyes widened to the good in other groups & see the benefits of a multicultural city.”

“I took this headline to mean a boy had been shot in the Sikh Temple, which wouldn't have been cricket. Whilst I am hoping the Temple is okay, this was a tad misleading!”

    “@gerry_gilbert:

Thanks for the comments. I don't miss London, it has many more faults than Hull which has a lot going for it but which you can sometimes only see if you've come from outside. A prosperous future for Hull will rely somewhat on outsiders coming to the city with new ideas, energy and of course capital.

Anyway, like I said in my post, racism (white on black and black on white) is born out of ignorance. Deny ignorance in all forms and your population will be better off.”

You are racist. If you weren't then you wouldn't have said his name 'doesn't sound very English'. Just emigrate yourself.

hulldude.... Thank you for a moment of amusement.

HDM - What is tomorrow's headline? 'Kids knock on door and run away'? 'Practical joke causes mild alarm'?”
