A man has died after being struck by a train in west

Hull.

The incident happened shortly after 8.30pm and involved a

National Express East Coast train travelling out of the

city.

According to Network Rail, which owns and operates the line,

an “adult male” was seen on the track near St George's Road

level crossing by the driver of the train.

The horn was sounded but the train struck the man, before

coming to a halt.

British Transport Police are now investigating the fatality

which has been described by officers as a “non-suspicious”
