Bricknell School celebrates Diamond Jubilee
Children at Bricknell are celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee today.
Youngsters at the school are dressing up in red, white and blue or as members of royalty to kick off the weekend of celebrations.
The whole school is then hoping to gather for a huge picnic on the field.
Debra Wheatley, the leading teacher for Every Child a Reader and the community cohesion co-ordinator, said: "Some children have not got a celebration or street party to go and so we wanted to give them that here.

“DukeofFlange - well your Grace, the problem with your President Kerry Katona argument is that it works better as an argument FOR a republic.
A) She's not a politician and even if she was people would have to vote for her.
B) We could have had Prime Minister Kerry Katona, but we haven't for the reasons covered in point A.
C) Theoretically though, Ms Katona could have married Prince William and become HRH Princess Kerry.
D) Following the same theory we could then have ended up with Queen Kerry when William ascends the throne. And there's not a thing we could do about it.
I'm not anti-monarchy by the way, just anti-poor example.”

"If you don't like the fact that we live in a monarchy why don't you go and live in a republic if that's more to your taste. Why not give North Korea or China a try, I'm sure you'll find life there much more to your liking."
Hmm or France, or the USA. If you like monarchy so much then why not give Bahrain or Saudi Arabia a try?
Do see how silly your little rant was?

God knows how you're in work as you don't seem to know the difference between of and off and you used a capital letter after a comma. Quite "hands on" is it?
I sometimes see this bloke in town who goes on and on about the Queen and how much he loves the royal family. Sadly the person in question is a homeless alcoholic and his idealism is fuelled by the super-strength lager he drinks all day with people in a similar position.”

“Someone in the pub the other night was bemoaning the monarchy and how much of a leach the royal family are, I agreed to a point. Sadly the person bemoaning our royals and our traditions, lives of our benefit systems (and never worked for a living) and their idealism is usually sourced by smoking dope 24/7 with people of a similar position, If only I could do that.
great work Bricknell.”
