EAST YORKS: East Riding Council recycling officers are taking the waste prevention message to community groups and events this month.
On Monday, officers will meet Leven wives group to talk about recycling and how glass, paper and plastics are reused.
Then, on Wednesday, the officers will be at Bishop Burton College's freshers' fair to explain to new students the area's recycling system and bins.
The final event of the month will be on Monday, September 25, when they visit Thorngumbald Friendship Circle to talk about what materials can be recycled in the area and how they are reused.

Councillor Symon Fraser, portfolio holder for environment, housing and planning, said: "Our residents are up there among the best in the country at recycling."
HULL: The Asda store in Kingswood is holding a careers day for 16 young people.
The store has joined a national campaign to raise awareness of the opportunities available for careers in retail.
On Tuesday, the young people will spend time with managers at their local store, learning about the careers on offer in the retail sector, as well as picking up tips and advice on how to apply for roles.
They will also hear from other colleagues who have developed their career in the retail sector.
Asda Kingswood is one of 72 Asda stores across the UK offering work clubs for up to 1,000 young people in partnership with the local Job Centre Plus.

HULL: The local branch of the Women's Institute will be meeting on Tuesday.
The event is being held at the Victoria Dock Village Hall from 8pm to 10pm.

EAST YORKS: Age UK East Riding is calling on local older people to make the most of a personalised advice service designed to help deal with life-changing events such as bereavement, investigating care needs or moving house.
With support from Prudential, the Age UK Planning for Later Life service, will see specially trained advisers give bespoke advice to older people.
