HULL: A social jogging group at Costello Stadium is running to the end of this month.

The group meets every Tuesday at 7pm.

Those who wish to attend can jog at their own pace under the guidance of a friendly and qualified leader.

It is being run by Active Hull under NHS Hull and Hull City Council. Those wanting to join should meet at Costello Stadium.

HULL: Parents have a deadline of October 31 to get their secondary school applications in for next year.

Those with children of the right age should have by now received a letter with a paper application form included.

A unique identification number will also be included in the letter for those parents who wish to apply online.

Parents need to register their application and then submit it application.

An e-mail will be sent automatically confirming the application has been received.

Parents will be asked to apply for three preferences of schools.

A letter will be sent to all parents on March 1 to confirm allocations and rights of appeal where necessary.

EAST HULL: A new five-week Zumba taster course is starting this week.

The course, which is open to women aged 18 and over, starts tomorrow from 6pm to 7pm at the Isaac Newton Sports Centre in Hemswell Avenue.

The sessions are being run by Hull City Council, Marfleet Children's Centre and the Isaac Newton Sports Centre.

Andrew McKee, community sports development officer, said: "This is a great way for residents of Greatfield to get active through the Zumba craze that is sweeping the country. "The sessions are low cost and a great way to see if you like the activity without the pressure of a lengthy gym membership."

Each session costs £2.50 per session and people can turn up with no need to book. For more information, call 01482 300300.

HULL: The Asda store in Kingswood is holding a careers day for 16 young people tomorrow.

The store has joined a national campaign to raise awareness of the opportunities available for careers in retail.

The young people will spend time with managers, learn about the careers on offer in the retail sector and get advice on how to apply for roles.

They will also hear from other colleagues who have developed their career in the retail sector.

The store is one of 72 across the UK offering work clubs for up to 1,000 young people.
