BRIDLINGTON: Sewerby Hall and Gardens is organising a Halloween pumpkin-carving workshop.

It will take place in the Orangery on Wednesday, October 31, between 1pm and 3pm. All materials are provided.

Run by East Riding Council's Sport, Play and Arts Service and suitable for children aged 6 and over, the event costs £5 per place for one child and an accompanying adult.

Booking is essential via the estate office on 01262 673769 and places must be paid for at the time of booking.

WITHERNSEA: Opera is coming to Patrington Haven Leisure Park.

Classical quartet Ti Amero will be the main act.

The evening will be held in the new £5 million Country Club and will include a three-course meal and reception.

The show will be held on Saturday, October 13. Tickets, which cost £20 per person, are now available from the park reception by calling 01964 562490.

EAST YORKS: Word-lovers are taking part in a poetry marathon.

The five-hour reading session will be held at the Holy Trinity Church in Leven on Thursday, October 4, from 1pm to 6pm.

Participants do not have to book and can turn up on the day.

Refreshments will be available.
