HULL: Former Bishop of Hull the Right Reverend James Jones will return to the city tomorrow to give a talk on urban regeneration.

Currently the Bishop of Liverpool, he will speak to the Humber Local Economic Partnership on lessons learned from recent regeneration projects in both Hull and Liverpool.

He said: "I have a great deal of affection for the city and people of Hull and am pleased to be able to take part in this consultation with Hull LEP.

"The environmental and sustainable regeneration of our urban areas is a critical priority. By sharing ideas between different cities we can learn from each other's experiences and build better communities."

Current Bishop of Hull, the Right Reverend Richard Frith, said: "We are delighted to welcome James back to Hull and we are looking forward to hearing him speak.

"Hull and Liverpool have much to learn from each other in terms of urban regeneration."

Tomorrow's talk at the Hull History Centre is not open to the public.

W HULL: Plans to convert a former veterinary surgery have been given the go-ahead by city council officials.

The facelift will see the property in Willerby Road being converted into a photographic studio.

HULL: Traders in Chanterlands Avenue are meeting later this month to discuss an offer from an energy company to support a community project following lengthy roadworks along the street.

The meeting takes place at Beyond Coffee on Thursday, October 25, at 6pm.
