Fundraising success for Hessle RNLI
E YORKS: The Hessle branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) has raised more money than ever in a single year.
The charity collected just over £22,300 for the work of the lifeboat service – the largest amount ever raised in its 43-year history.
A spokesman said: "We are delighted that, in spite of the tough economic climate, our branch has managed to raise such a figure.
"It is a great testament to all the hard work of our volunteer fundraisers and supporters and to all those individuals and businesses who have continued to support us throughout the year."
