WEST HULL: A man was treated for a burn to his hand after a detached shed caught fire in Londesbrough Street.
Firefighters were called to the scene just after 5pm on Saturday. A woman also suffered smoke inhalation and was checked by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment.
The two managed to put out the fire with a garden hose before firefighters arrived.
EAST YORKS: Plans for two wind turbines in Nafferton, which would reach 36m to blade tip, have been recommended for approval.
The proposals for Sleights Farm in Lowthorpe Lane replace the plans for two smaller wind turbines on the same site which have given planning permission.
The applicant says for the farm to survive it needs to diversify and become self-sufficient. The applicant says the delivery of fuel during the winter months can be difficult.
Council officers recommend the application should be deferred for a revised noise assessment and favourable response from the public protection officer.
The application will be heard at County Hall on Monday, January 14.
