BEVERLEY: A mini display at the Treasure House is showcasing artefacts from the history of Thailand.

Drawing on the South East Asia Museum collections in the University of Hull, the exhibition looks at the hierarchy of Theravada Buddhism, the kingship and the people in the traditional Thai state.

Dr David Marchant, museums registrar at East Riding Council, said: "The display is a colourful and fascinating collection of artefacts."

The Treasure House display runs until March 28.

HULL: Cruse Bereavement Care is searching for volunteers.

The charity supports people in Hull and the East Riding who have lost loved ones and runs courses tailored to equip people to support bereaved clients.

The next course will be in January at the Annex, Community Enterprise Centre, off Cottingham Road in Hull.

The 16 sessions run until April and cost £250 for individuals paying for themselves or £300 if a company is paying for the participant.

EAST RIDING: Two meetings are being held to publicise changes in the welfare system.

The council's benefit and money advice service is holding events offering advice and support to anyone affected by the changes.

The first meeting will be held at Bridlington Sports Centre in Gypsey Road on Tuesday, February 12. It will run from 10am to 2pm.

The second will be at The Courtyard in Boothferry Road, Goole, on Thursday, February 14, from 10am to 2pm.

E YORKS: Amateur photographers can submit entries for Sewerby Hall and Gardens' Coast, Sea and Sky competition.

Entries must have the natural world at heart and be taken within East Yorkshire.

Winners will receive a mounted print and a 2014 to 2015 family season pass to Sewerby Hall and Gardens. The closing date for the competition is Saturday, August 31.
