In Brief
HULL: Humberside police and crime commissioner Matthew Grove has published his first draft of his police and crime plan.
The key messages in the plan, which is available on his website, include focusing on crime prevention, developing community justice initiatives, providing improved services to victims of crime and developing a cross-agency approach to tackle crime.
Mr Grove will now begin a six-week consultation process with partners and the public to get their feedback on the plan.
An online version of the plan is available at www.humberside-pcc.gov.uk/plans-and-policies/police-and-crime-plan.aspx and the final version will then be published at the end of March.

HULL: HMV is expected to go into administration today, putting yet more jobs in the city under threat.
Directors at the company, which has a store in Whitefriargate, met yesterday to discuss its future amid growing concerns it could become the latest big-name high street chain to succumb to the flat-lining economy.
Nationally, it would put more than 4,000 jobs at risk just days after the camera retailer Jessops announced its demise, with the closure of nearly 200 shops and the loss of almost 2,000 jobs.
HULL: The tidal barrier was lowered in the River Humber last night to combat the levels of surface water in the surrounding areas after heavy rainfall.
A spokesman for the Environment Agency said: "We lowered the tidal barrier as a precaution to help ease surface water levels in the area around the River Hull."
