HULL: Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is asking residents for their opinion on the level of its council tax precept for 2013 to 2014.
Kevin Wilson, director of finance at the service said: "The level of the precept is under discussion. The aim of the consultation is to gain an understanding as to the public's preferred level of the precept.
"We are aware the financial situation is tough for all public sector organisations and we are currently working on plans to enable us to continue delivering a high level of service."
The final recommendation will be considered by Humberside Fire Authority in February.

HULL: Witnesses are being sought to a crash between cyclist and an HGV in Hessle Road.
It is thought the crash happened when the white HGV hit the cyclist on a zebra crossing close to the roundabout connecting Madely Street and Rawlins Way.
The crash happened on Monday at around 1.15pm and the HGV driver did not stop.
Anyone with information should call Humberside Police on 101 quoting log number 290 of January 14, 2013.
E YORKS: Former Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) pilot Captain Peter Barnes was killed after a helicopter he was flying hit a crane and crashed in Vauxhall, London, yesterday.
In a statement, the YAA said: "Captain Peter Barnes was very well respected among our crew and staff. Our thoughts and sincere sympathies are with the families of all those involved in yesterday's tragic accident."
E YORKS: Firefighters have rescued a stricken dog which got stuck in a dyke in an East Riding village.
Crews were called to Thorne Road in East Cowick, near Goole yesterday at 9.30am after the pet got trapped in mud. It was released using a shovel and salvage sheets.
