E YORKS: More than 80 firefighters battled for 24 hours to clear what is thought to be the region's largest chemical spill in a decade on the M62.
Emergency services were called when a tanker carrying 30,000 litres of benzole crashed and began to leak.
Its driver was taken to hospital but his injuries were not thought to be serious.
The motorway was closed and traffic diverted while firefighters from nine different stations fought to contain the spill.

The operation caused huge tailbacks and led to the cancellation of Hull FC's home game against the Bradford Bulls, when eight Hull players were caught in traffic.
Once the road was closed, crews in breathing apparatus were able to contain the spill.
COTTINGHAM: Police were called to Castle Hill Hospital after concerns were raised over the safety of an in-patient with mental health issues.
The incident happened on ward 14, with visiting cancelled while the patient was dealt with. Police were called at 6.05pm on Tuesday.
WEST HULL: Firefighters were called to a house in Avenue Crescent after curtains caught on fire. The fire happened at 11.05pm on Saturday. No one was injured.
