E RIDING: A beach clean will take place in Flamborough later this week.

Organised by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust's Living Seas team, the event will take place at South Landing on Sunday from noon to 2pm.

Alongside the beach clean, there will be fun activities so people can learn more about marine litter.

Those wishing to take part should meet at the Living Seas Centre in Flamborough.

BEVERLEY: A pancake party will take place at Toll Gavel Methodist Church.

There will be free pancakes, drinks and acti- vities for children to celebrate Shrove Tuesday.

The event is open to everyone and will take place at the church hall in Old Walkergate from 5.30pm to 7pm.

EAST YORKS: Two women are preparing to take on dramatic sand dunes and sweltering heat for a worthy cause.

Pauline Speed, manager of Dove House Hospice's Love You 2 Appeal, and Nikki Henderson, the owner of Toy Gallery in Beverley, will be completing a Sahara Trek.

They will do a nine-day walk through mesme- rising landscape to raise money for the appeal.
