East Yorkshire campaigners against health service cuts are calling for a day of action to highlight their cause.

Pressure group Save our NHS Hull and East Yorkshire hopes to hold its protest on Wednesday, March 27.

It will see campaigners, health workers and patients take to the streets and call on Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt to change his mind about cutbacks.

There will also be a public meeting at 6pm in Hull's Methodist Hall.

Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals Trust has been asked to find £99m in efficiency savings.

Campaigners claim a specialist neurology ward has closed in the region, with ten more wards and 300 acute beds also facing the axe.
