EAST YORKS: The British Red Cross wants men and women to lace up their red trainers, shoes, boots and wellingtons and head to London for the inaugural Red Shoe Walk.
It takes place on Saturday, May 18, and is part of the organisation's annual Red Cross Week celebrations.
The eight-mile walk starts at Tower Bridge and winds along the River Thames, crossing 13 of London's most iconic bridges, before finishing in Battersea Park.
There is also a four-mile route for families with young children.

Lunch will take place in Victoria Tower Gardens, near the stunning Palace of Westminster.
Walkers are encouraged to wear red shoes, T-shirts and wigs.

EAST HULL: The Big Local Greatfield Partnership will be holding an open day on Saturday, from 11am to 3pm.
It is to determine whether residents would like the money that has been awarded to Greatfield by the Big Lottery Fund to be partly spent on creating a community centre in the old Isaac Newton sixth form block in Hemswell Avenue.
Family activities will be held.

EAST YORKS: A geological talk on the east coast will take place later this month.
The talk will be given by a member of the North East Yorkshire Geology Trust on Thursday, February 28, from 7pm to 8.30pm.
The event has been organised by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and will take place at the Living Seas Centre.
The interactive talk will bring alive the geology of the Yorkshire coast, say organisers.
EAST YORKS: A beach clean will take place at Flamborough on Sunday.
Organised by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust's Living Seas team, the event will take place at South Landing from noon to 2pm.
Alongside the beach clean, there will be fun activities so people can learn more about marine litter.
Those wishing to take part should meet at the Living Seas Centre at Flamborough.
