FINANCE: Government departments have raised about £62m in Yorkshire and the Humber by selling surplus land and property.
The cash forms part of £1bn raised across the UK since May 2010.

Cabinet Office Minister Francis Maude, pictured, said: "It's remarkable the Government was paying for property that it just wasn't using.
"That kind of waste is always unacceptable – but is completely unjustifiable when we are trying to reduce the deficit and get ahead in the global race."

However, the selling off of public sector funded buildings has left the Government open to criticism.
In 2011, Hull's One Humber Quays and nearby land was sold by Yorkshire Forward.
The sale of the £17m city centre development, which was funded entirely by the taxpayer, disappointed leading pubic sector figures including Alan Johnson MP.
