Broken nose for cyclist punched on bike track near Wilmington Bridge in Hull

An awful lot of pedestrians walk on marked bicycle tracks. When I encounter them I slow down and smile at them (sometimes I steer onto the footpath to avoid them) they are fellow citizens who are behaving normally and I don`t wish to get angry for no good reason. It would spoil their day and mine; learn to be more tolerant and relax.”

Totally unprovoked attack, all i wanted to do was get to work along my usual route, definatly pre-mediatated as they kept looking behind them when i was approaching, then positioned themselfs on the cycle track and footpath so i had to go through the middle of the group. From what ive heard since this isnt the first attack like this down that stretch so it sounds as if theyve gotten away with it before, im just glad it was me rather than somebody alot older, female or a bit more timid, hate to think what would have happened if they had got me off my bike.

The police have CCTV footage of the group from the bridge camera and apparntly there is a pretty clear shot of one of there faces.

For what its worth my two small children have had to see there dad with bad facial injurys but hey i suppose its my own fault for falling off my bike eh.

i did give detailed descriptions of what they were wearing but im not sure why this hasnt been printed.
