Budding chefs and late-bloomers wanted
BEVERLEY and District Chrysanthemum Society is hoping for a bumper crop of entries for its late-flowering show on Sunday, November 4.
After a disappointing summer growing season, the society says late-flowering chrysanthemums have fared better than early blooms and organisers are hoping for a good display of flowers and vegetables.

They are appealing for younger members to join them and urging more people to enter classes for cookery, children and floral art.
Entries in the floral art classes have been low in recent years. Spokesman Geoff Gooding said: "We get some entries for cookery, but we don't get anywhere near as many as we would expect.

The show will be held at the Cherry Lane Garden Centre (formerly Croft) at Tickton. Entries can be accepted up until the morning of the show.
