Costello’s opener came from Sam Tucker, who volleyed in after Andy Des Forges headed against the bar.
Tucker scored a second before the break, following good work by Ryan Lever.
In the second half Cranswick had chances but goals from Des Forges, Lloyd Jaffrey, Tom Borman and Tucker made it 6-0.
TST Tigers got back to winning ways with a 6-0 victory over Springhead FC.
Goals from Ben McGregor, Aaron Wilds, Callum Rundle, Lewis Malton, and Eddie Pearson gave TST the victory.
HESSLE Sporting A won 3-1 against Hedon Rangers in a second against third encounter at the top of the Myton League.
Hessle got off to a flying start when a corner found Sam Leach on the edge of the box, whose shot bobbled into the net.
The second period saw Hedon come more into the game but the Hessle defence held firm.
Jonny Mawson bagged two superb goals to make it 3-0.
Hedon grabbed a late consolation from a penalty after a handball but in an entertaining game Hessle won.
COSTELLO Wolves beat North Cave Tigers B 2-1.
An own goal from a James Lax cross gave Costello the lead.
North Cave regrouped and pressurised Costello until Tom Bell picked up a well weighted through ball to equalise.
The second half saw Costello control the bulk of play and creating chances.
Lax crowned his performance, scoring the winner after 24 minutes.
COTTINGHAM’S Alex McErevy opened the scoring after two minutes against Pinefleet Wolfreton.
A minute later Pinefleet’s Danny Coggin equalised, and the teams remained gridlocked in the first half.
In the second half Luke Owen made it 2-1 to Pinefleet and although Cottingham got an equaliser, Luke Owen found time to get Pinefleet a winner.
HOWDEN Town played only their second home game of 2009, losing 2-1 to AFC Preston.
After 15 minutes Preston opened the scoring with a break down the left and a shot into the top corner.
A spectacular defensive header off the goal line by Almond helped to keep the visitors out.
With 15 minutes left, Boardman crossed into the area from the right for Woodall to strike a rising shot which went into the back of the net.
Although Woodall shaved the post with a shot shortly after, Preston got the all-important final goal with a free kick which went in off the underside of the cross bar.
BEVERLEY Whitestar Tigers lost 4-2 to Hessle Rangers as the visitors scored four late goals.
Tigers took a two-goal lead into the break thanks to Alex Fleeman and Josh Newby.
However second half goals for Hessle from Tom Hancem Jack Tranner, two, and Nathan Scott gave Hessle an excellent comeback.
THORNGUMBALD Tigers registered a comfortable 3-0 win over Cottingham Rangers.
Goals came from Josh Danby, two, and Tom Bielby.
BEVERLEY Bulldogs hit six without reply against St Andrews Hawks.
Lewis Cunningham opened the scoring for the Bulldogs after six seconds.
In the first half he scored a second and was joined by a Tom Christie hat-trick.
Hawks’ defence was a lot tighter in the second half, though George Woods found a way through.
BRID Rangers produced a comfortable 7-0 win over Hessle Rangers Juniors.
Brid took their time to settle but started to create plenty of chances. and took the lead through Kenney.
Thorne added a second with a cross-cum-shot.
Faulkner, Green, 2, Pearson and Campleman also scored.
