Buoyant city helps us all

I AM sure many of us would echo the concerns of John Wright, of Kirk Ella, who highlighted the disgraceful state of Queens Gardens and the embarrassment it is to his city (Mail, March 11).

I do hope, that as a resident of Kirk Ella, by referring to Hull as "his city", he does not find himself in trouble with the "hands off our villages" brigade who most certainly don't consider Hull as their city.

Could it be we have stumbled across an underground resistance movement, who have realised that a prosperous Hull would also lead to a more prosperous Kirk Ella, Swanland and North Ferriby?
