A car was stolen from a driveway after a thief broke into a house in Anlaby and took the keys from inside.

The thief got into the house through an unlocked front door and stole the keys and the Mercedes-Benz E Class, registration LS62 LLU, along with a laptop and a wallet.

The break-in happened between 1am and 8.30am on Saturday, October 20, in Lowfield Road, Anlaby.

Detectives are urging people not to make the life of criminals easier by leaving doors unlocked.

Detective Sergeant Gavin Orsborne said: "All access points to homes should be kept secure at all times, particularly now the days are becoming shorter and opportunist thieves can sneak around in the low light and make their move unnoticed."

Any witnesses or anyone with information should call Humberside Police on non-emergency number 101, quoting log 233 of October 20.
