The Tigers confirmed the move this evening.

The 21-year-old winger joined City from Manchester United in January 2011 following a loan spell.
After damaging a cruciate ligament he struggled to find his best form for much of 2012.

But City refused two bids from Leicester City to reunite him with former boss Nigel Pearson, and this season Stewart had set his sights on reaffirming his status as one of the Championship's most feared wingers.
However, Tigers boss Steve Bruce has strengthened his midfield options in the past 24 hours with moves for Ahmed Elmohamady and Sheffield United's Stephen Quinn.
Stewart will stay with the Clarets until January and will be available for their match against Brighton and Hove Albion at Turf Moor on Saturday.

“Good. He gets his rubber legs twisted up too much.”

“Agree with everything said so far.
Hope he is not allowed to play against us (remember Ryan Williams?) cos you know what will happen!”

“if he's back in January, he'll provide cover for el Mohammady and Aluko (potentially) in the African Nations.
looking at Seyi and Jay, there are signs that he will be back and playing for us in the future.

“it didn't do Jay Simpson any harm going out on loan to Millwall, hopefully this will shake Cameron up enough so he can realize his true potential in a City shirt or if not sell him in January, I think it's a good piece of business for Hull City !”

“Only good can come of this. He's been so poor for so long that at times it's as if City have been playing with ten men, carrying Stewart as a passenger. Week after week last season I couldn't believe he was still getting picked.
With any luck, he'll find some form at Burnley to go with his supposed talent and then City either get back a decent larker or get a decent fee for him.
And in the meantime we won't have to sit through his total lack of application, non-existent positional sense and annoying, frustrating inability to do anything useful with the ball 95 per cent of the time. Flash boots, Ronaldo-style hands over the face in frustration and an ear-ring do not a footballer make.
I'm still undecided about Bruce but this is a good decision by the manager.”

“Stewart has been performing poorly for a number of months now. I see this as a perfect chance to start fresh, regain confidence and come back with a bang.....Hes just not doing it at City with our style of play. The lad is top quality but in my opinion we dont have the right tactical setup to bring out the best in him....”
