Burton Fleming flooding (video)
SANDBAGS are being reinforced in Burton Fleming.
No homes are believed to have been flooded, but South Street at the Back Street junction, is closed due to standing water.
An East Riding Council spokesman said the Gypsey Race hasn’t burst its banks and the water on the road has come from rain, which can’t escape into the Gypsey Race due to the sandbags.
Three pumps are in operation in the village.

Much of the village was left under water for about three weeks after the watercourse burst its banks over Christmas.
The authorities struggled to pump the water away because the ground was so saturated and it had nowhere to go.

“How come every time a village floods people find it necessary to video it. One flood looks like another.”
