Cage fighter in horrifying sex assault on Hull student after kicking down door of her home
A MARTIAL arts expert has been convicted of a sex attack on a former student, imprisoning her at knifepoint.
The woman only escaped the clutches of Marcus Da Silva when he took her to hospital and she managed to flee, pleading for help from a police officer on duty at Hull Royal Infirmary.
Cage fighter and self-defence instructor Da Silva, 31, kicked down the woman's door, bursting inside to attack her in her own home.
He punched her and squeezed her throat before sexually assaulting her.

Da Silva then grabbed the largest knife from her kitchen drawer, threatening to "cut her face up".
The terrified woman begged him to end her ordeal, pleading "Just kill me and stop torturing me like this."
Now, a jury of eight men and four women at Hull Crown Court convicted Da Silva of false imprisonment and sexual assault after deliberating for more than five hours. He had already admitted subjecting the woman to a violent attack.
Detective Constable Ade Adamson, who led the investigation, said: "Marcus Da Silva has attacked this victim in her own home, putting her through the most frightening and degrading attack.
"Given his martial arts training, she had no chance to stop him.
"Throughout the investigation, he has lied and sought to apportion some blame to the victim for his terrible actions."
Da Silva, of Blenheim Street, west Hull, was a martial arts instructor, holding classes in Hull, the East Riding and York.
He met the woman in a class and when she rejected him, he went round to her home.
Prosecutor Mark Kendall said: "He subjected her to a prolonged period of physical and sexual abuse. He began knocking at her door and she shouted for him to go away.
"He barged through the front door and ran upstairs, grabbing her by the arm and pulling her into the bedroom. Her phone was ringing and he smashed it.
"He began punching her in the face and squeezing her throat. She believes she blacked out for a few moments.
"She was knocked to the floor and when she came round her eyes were swollen and she was bleeding."
After inflicting a sexual attack on the woman, he forced her to his car.
Da Silva drove to pick up another student and was planning on taking the pair to his martial arts class.
It was when the group got to Bishop Burton that the fellow student begged Da Silva to take the woman, badly injured and bleeding, to hospital and even paid him the £50 he was due to earn through taking the class.

Once at the hospital, Da Silva stayed with the woman while she was receiving treatment in a bid to stop her revealing to hospital staff what he had done to her.
It was only when medics asked him to leave her that she escaped and managed to ask the police officer to come to her aid.
Da Silva, who arrived in Hull from his native Brazil in 2003, was later arrested.
DC Adamson said: "Da Silva is a very controlling individual and has put the victim through the ordeal of a court trial.
"She has remained strong and resolute in her desire to see him jailed. I'm very happy that the jury saw through him and he is now facing a custodial sentence."
Da Silva was acquitted of threatening to kill the woman and of a further sexual assault and his victim wept as the jury returned their guilty verdicts.
Judge Simon Jack deferred sentence for reports to determine whether or not Da Silva posed a risk to all women.
Da Silva has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced next month.
