At the moment, 8.3 per cent of the city's population are claiming Jobseekers' allowance. This is more than double the national average of 3.8 per cent.

Laurie Berryman, head of Emirates UK, said: "With Emirates, people can explore and imbibe the culture, sights and sounds of more than 128 exotic cities worldwide.

"We offer a superb benefits package, which includes an attractive tax-free salary, high-quality furnished accommodation and comprehensive medical coverage."

It also offers cabin crew end-of-service benefits, annual confirmed ticket to home country, duty transport, education allowances and concessional travel.

Emirates seeks dedicated employees, who are open-minded, helpful, friendly and service-oriented.

Applicants have to be at least 21 at the time of possible recruitment and are asked to take along an up-to-date CV and a photograph.

Mr Berryman said: "Due to its rapid, dynamic expansion, Emirates is seeking 3,800 new cabin crew this year. About 35 new aircraft will be added to the fleet this year and Emirates will need additional cabin crew to support these aircraft.

"Emirates will be holding open days and recruiting all across the UK until mid-April.

"Future UK open days will be held in Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, London, Norwich and Nottingham."

Mr Berryman said there are many job opportunities within the airline and potential career growth for those who sign up.

She said: "Emirates has about 16,000 multi-cultural cabin crew, of more than 130 nationalities.

"This is reflective of Dubai and the international passengers who travel across Emirates' global network.

"Those who work for us will get to use state-of-the-art training facilities, including an in-house simulator in Dubai at the Emirates Aviation College. It's a city with a fantastic lifestyle – restaurants, clubs, sports and leisure activities and a first-class hospitality industry."

At the open day, interested candidates will be able to speak to the Emirates recruitment team to get insight into the company and working onboard.

If they meet the minimum requirements, participants will be invited to attend the Emirates Cabin Crew screening and assessment process, either on the same day, or the following day.

Mr Berryman said: "This is a great opportunity for people in Hull to do something different and follow a new career path."

“You can just imagine the look of horror on the Emirates recruiting team as the unwashed east hull benefit fraudsters reluctantly turn up in their best adidas hoodies or face losing the benefits.”

“Best airline I have travelled with, and they have high standards that I hope will never be lowered.
Word of advice to potential applicants, wear your best trainers and trackies to the event to be in with a chance.”

“Take a look at Emirates Airlines own advertisements from way back to the present. Interested candidates ought to take note that about 98 percent of their cabin crew staff seem to be of Asian descent and female.”
