Cannabis plants seized in raid at industrial unit

Police have seized 37 cannabis plants in a raid in Flamborough.

Officers from Bridlington's Neighbourhood Policing Team supported members from the Humberside Police's incident response team, forcing entry to an industrial unit at Bempton Lane Industrial Estate.

Some plants were in an insulated grow tent. More were found in the toilets.

A quantity of herbal cannabis, a Class B drug, was also found.

No arrests have yet been made and investigations are continuing.

Cracking down on Bridlington's drug problem has been a priority for police since Inspector Grant Taylor took over as the head of the town's neighbourhood policing team in July last year.

Before Christmas 99 juvenile cannabis plants with a potential street value of thousands of pounds were discovered by police in an upstairs bedroom of a house in the Well Lane area of Bridlington.
