Car break-ins rising in west Hull villages
Police are delivering hundreds of leaflets to residents after a spate of thefts from cars in the villages of Willerby and Kirk Ella.
Tools were taken from a car in Hawthorne Avenue, Willerby, on December 5. On the same night, a satellite navigation system was stolen from another car in the village.
PC Andy White, neighbourhood beat officer for the area, said: "In the last week, we have seen an increase in cars being broken into. I will be doing a leaflet drop to hundreds of houses warning people to leave their vehicles secure and with no valuables on show.
"It is just about reminding people to keep using their common sense so they don't become a victim.
