Help is to be offered to unsuccessful applicants for the Government's Portas Pilot funding.

Hull, Beverley and Goole missed out on the funding earlier this year. They have now been offered £10,000 plus a package of support.

Local Government Minister Grant Shapps has written to all MPs in the areas which submitted proposals to take the lead for their communities and show support for their local Town Team by applying for them to become Town Team Partners.

MPs' commitment will be needed if Town Teams are to access the package, which includes support from the Association of Town Centre Management (ATCM).
